The Friday 56

The Friday 56 (#23)

Freda’s Voice’s Rules:The Friday 56
*Grab a book you’re currently reading or one randomly from your bookshelf.
*Turn to page 56 or 56% in your eReader.
(If you have to improvise, that’s ok.)
*Find any sentence (or few, just don’t spoil it) that grabs your attention.
*Post it.
*Add your (url) post below in Linky. Add the post url, not your blog url. It’s that simple.

The Friday 56 is a weekly meme hosted by Freda’s Voice, where either Writing My Legacy or InkReads will post a sentence or two from page 56 of a book we’re currently reading or a random book from our shelves. If you would also like to participate, click the link to the host’s blog page.

I’m still reading this, so I’m going to cheat a little and choose a couple of sentences from page 156. 😅

Memoirs of a Geisha by Arthur Golden

“Mameha told me to turn my head this way and that, and kept saying over and over, ‘My goodness, she’s turned into quite a young woman!’ At one point Tatsumi even made me stand and hold my arms out so she could measure my waist and hips with her hands, and then said to me, ‘Well, there’s no doubt a kimono will fit your body just like a sock fits a foot.'” (pg. 156)
