Booking Through Thursday (#4): Format

Booking Through Thursday is a weekly meme about (mostly) books and reading hosted by Booking Through Thursday where I’ll answer whatever question is thrown at me. If you would also like to participate, find out the rules by clicking the link to the host’s blog page.

This Week’s Question:

What is your favorite format for reading? Hardcover? Paperback? New book? Old book? Leather-bound first edition? E-book?

My Answer:

I don’t have a particular preference when it comes to book format, though I do tend to favor hardcopies over e-books. My big weakness is consistency and uniformity. If book one is in paperback, they ALL must be in paperback. If I own book one from the animal-cover edition and book four from the movie-cover edition, then I’ll be forced to eventually buy two complete sets of the same series. There is no way I can have a mix-and-match series. That would just irritate me to no end.

    • I agree that e-books have their perks, especially for vacationing/road-trip purposes, but there’s just something different about holding a hardcopy book in your hands and enveloping yourself in that new-page smell. Also, I find great pride in the size of my bookshelf. Hehe. 😀
